League City’s explosive growth makes preserving its history more important than ever. For 30 years The League City Historical Society has been actively working to preserve League City’s rich history and educate those new to the area about this history.

By Donating you help us continue the LCHS Legacy! Our many active programs and projects include:

  • Historic Home Tour that brings alive the Historic District and opens homes and businesses to the public that are League City’s history.

  • West Bay Common School Museum sits at the site of League City’s original school built in 1894 on land donated by JC League. The school provides a hands-on-history program where over 100,000 school aged children have experienced what a day was like in a one-room school in the late 1800’s.

  • Living History Dinner that features a historic reenactor in an authentic presentation of the life of an important person in our history. A memorable night for history buffs and those that just enjoy a colorful presentation.

  • Monthly gatherings with interesting speakers and authors delivering information members enjoy, as we learn more about history and the environment our early settlers lived and worked in.

Your involvement and help are critical if we want to continue preserving the history of the city, and continue introducing it to others.

Become a member or make a donation to help us continue our efforts to continue this legacy.

League City Historical Society is 501(c)3 and your membership or donation is tax deductible.
