A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN 1890’s STUDENT

Teachers & Group Leaders

This could be your classroom for public schools, private schools, home schools, seniors, scouts, family groups or special meetings or parties. Choose a date and come to experience a day at school in the 1890s. Advanced reservations are required for groups of 15 or more for schoolhouse sessions. There is a $20 reservation fee to hold the date(s). Sessions cost $9 per person. Groups must be a minimum of 15 people and maximum of 84 persons for a three hour session a day.

When you register for a 1898 Schoolhouse Session, the program includes a pen & ink lesson, math, Spelling and history lessons on lap slates and a spelling bee. The group then goes to our Historic Barn Museum for the recess portion of the program to learn about outhouses, play games of the 1890's and explore the life and times of this town through a fascinating display of artifacts and exhibits.

History comes alive when students re-envision and engage with it.
