Mischievous Nutcrackers had scattered throughout the Historic District!


League City Community Center

Built in 1938, the building holds memories for many in our community, having served students in kindergarten through 12th grade over the last 80 years. Restored and opened as the League City Community Center in 2022!


Neighborhood Storytime

LCHS is partnered with Helen Hall Library for Neighborhood Storytime! Kids and parents enjoyed a story in our Garden Classroom with library volunteers.

Transforming Your Landscape With Native Plants

May 2021 | In the Outdoor Garden Classroom at LCHS

Patricia Steinke from the Native Plant Society of Texas Clear Lake Chapter will talk about the importance of transforming non-native landscapes to more native, giving benefit to us and nature! This will be an interactive meeting outdoor meeting with plenty of information and time for questions.

Victorian Christmas Tea

A wonderful day of Victorian Fashion and Tea with The Victorian Lady at Butler's Courtyard! Yellow Cottage Farm served lovely tea sandwiches with fresh herbs, green salad with homemade vinaigrette, and desserts of lemon glazed scones, fresh fruit, dark chocolate truffles, and hand dipped petit fours. Many delightful tables were arranged by the hostesses, the fashions were a constant parade of beautiful clothes with amazing detail, and the guests were thoroughly entertained.

 

 

April 2021 WALKabout Old League City

A stroll through the heart of League City along 3rd Street. Deep in the heart of the neighborhood, 3rd Street contains homes of past prominent League City residents as well as a few community buildings and businesses.


 

January 2021 WALKabout Rolling L Ranch

Rolling-L-Ranch in the heart of League City consists of three historic homes - the 1901 Cox/McQuirk Home, the 1895 Johnson/Lothrop Home, and the 1920s Giacchino Italian Home.  This 5 acre ranchette was created to harken back to an older, slower paced time in League City.  


 

December 2020 WALKabout Old League City

A stroll back in time through the heart of Old League City. The airing of heirloom quilts in the historic district added to the vintage sights seen during this WALKabout.


 

November 2020 WALKabout League Park

Explored the revitalized League Park which has a history dating back to 1898. Also featured was the Railroad Station Master’s house and League City’s historic gazebo.


 

October 2020 WALKabout League City

Focused on the restoration and historic relevance of our Bus Barn, One Room Schoolhouse property and the lovely TJ Dick home and gardens.


 

2017 Living History Dinner

Our 2017 Living History Dinner was held on July 14th, 2017 at the amazing Walding Station. General George Washington was our guest and entertained with stories about the war of independence. Overall, he had high hopes of the Colonies being successful in our fight against tyranny. A delicious dinner was catered by Ludwig Catering and a successful silent auction was held to raise money to support our Society projects. A wonderful night that brings history to life and supports your local LCHS.

 

 

2018 Living History Dinner

The League City Historical Society Living Dinner 2018 was held on July 19th, 2018 at Bulter’s Courtyard and was catered by Robinette & Company Caterers. Jeffery Hunt was a dynamic speaker who shared the brief but grueling time of the Texas National Guard as it served at the front during WWI. In First World War uniform Mr. Hunt recounted the experience of the 36th Infantry Division.
