LCHS school marms riding in our authentic horse drawn school bus

Over the last 30 years, League City Historical Society’s dedicated volunteers have invested a great deal of sweat equity to restore and preserve our turn-of-the-century one room schoolhouse and 90 year old (bus) barn.  Visitors have been able to immerse themselves in hands-on-history in our 1898 classroom experience and explore our museum complex. The LCHS needs to maintain this restoration and make necessary upgrades to our museum property to ensure we can continue celebrating our local history for decades to come.

We need your help to preserve, restore and revitalize our structures including our West Bay Common School Children’s Museum, a site on the National Schoolhouse Registry, and our Barn Museum, the original fire station for League City.

Projects that would ensure the survival of these wonderful landmarks and continue our history into the future include:

  • Archival Room Infrastructure upgrades to aid in preservation and improve community access

  • HVAC improvements to repair and replace ageing infrastructure.

  • Technology upgrades to aid in cataloging and digitizing community resources

  • Visitor Accessibility improvements to ensure safe property access and improve signage

During the month of August, a generous LCHS Board Member will match any donation up to $4,000 made to LCHS!  Donate this month to double your impact for this cherished local treasure.

LCHS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your tax deductible gift will ensure League City history, heritage and spirit are passed on to future generations.

Thank you for your support!
